On Independence Day on February 4th, we celebrate the gaining of independence from Colonial rule with magnificent pomp and pageantry and the spirit of patriotism resonating in every street corner.
The knowledge of the day and technology our forefathers used to accomplish independence was evolutionary, the way they used the knowledge and technology was revolutionary.
Our forefathers were some of the most forward-thinking people in history. S. Mahinda Thero, Anagarika Dharmapala, D.S. Senanayake, E. W. Perera, Ponnambalam Arunachchalam and too many more to mention here. They built a country of, for and by the people so everyone could enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It’s not perfect of course but it demonstrates the difference between evolutionary and revolutionary.
Fast forward to 72 years later to 2020, we are now experiencing an evolution in technology and a revolution in marketing. As traditional marketing channels continue to decline, time on digital marketing channels continues to explode. This evolution in technology has leveled the playing field.
